About Melanopro

Melanopro Peel is a 2-phase system. The first phase is done by a skin care professional in clinic, where the Intensive Peeling Masque is applied within a duration of 45 minutes. The masque remains on for a period of time and is removed at home.

The second phase is continued at home with prescribed products, including the Continuous Resurfacing Cream and Ultracalming Mist. Results will be seen in under 6 weeks.

This transformative 2-phase regime works to visibly counteract environmental skin damage, fading dark spots, reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation, and smoothing skin's texture to reveal fresh, brighter skin.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 14 days prior to your appointment
  • No waxing, depilatory creams at least 14 days prior to your appointment
  • Avoid laser and skin treatments at least 14 days prior
  • Avoid exfoliators, acids, and any retinol or vitamin A-based products. at least 7 days prior
  • Avoid Cosmetic Aesthetic treatments min 2-4 weeks prior
  • As an advanced peeling program with active ingredients, it is not advised to be undertaken if your skin is not used to hydroxy acids and retinol. Your skin therapist may suggest homecare products or treatments to prepare your skin for the best results

  • Aftercare: Avoid direct heat or very hot showers within the first 1-2 days post treatment
  • You may apply make-up once any redness from the application of the Melanopro Peel System has stopped
  • Avoid strenuous exercise or any heat-based activities such as saunas, spas or steam rooms for 5 days post treatment
  • Day 1: Once masque has been removed, do not apply any product to the skin (serum, moisturiser etc) except for Dermalogica UltraCalming Mist. Use the mist as often as needed to soothe skin (if skin feels tight or hot)
  • Day 2: On the day after masque application, do not apply any product to the skin (serum, moisturiser etc). except for Dermalogica UltraCalming Mist. Use the mist as often as needed
  • Day 3: On the second day after the masque application, apply a pea size amount of the Continuous Resurfacing Cream twice a day (AM and PM) continue to use twice per day for the next two to three days. Avoid eye area
  • After starting the Continuous Resurfacing Cream, the skin may feel stimulated upon application for the first few days. This feeling should dissipate within 15-20 minutes. If the stimulation is felt longer, please contact the clinic and we can advise you on how to proceed
  • If skin feels sensitive, spray Dermalogica UltraCalming Mist to soothe skin. Use as often as needed
  • Day 5-6 onwards: Apply Continuous Resurfacing Cream up to three times per day for up to six weeks, or until the tube is used
  • Do not pick at or peel off any flakey or peeling skin. Allow this to naturally slough off
  • Avoid sun exposure during the 6-week home care program
  • Apply an SPF 50+ sunscreen, such as Skinstitut Age Defence SPF 50+, daily after the application of the Continuous Resurfacing Cream
  • You may use a gentle cleanser, such as Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser, to cleanse the face
  • Do not use products with AHAs, BHAs, enzymes, exfoliants or Retinol during the 6-week treatment period
  • During the 6-weeks of the program, do not have any other treatments on the area treated. You may commence Yellow LED treatments from week 3

  • We recommend To optimise treatment results, we recommend combining the Melanopro Peel with Yellow LED therapy starting from week 3 of your program. Yellow LED works by enhancing skin function, stimulating more effective pigment elimination, and promoting improved skin regeneration and healing.
  • After completing the Melano Pro Peel program, you can maintain the brightening effects with regular Calm and Hydrate peels. Additionally, microneedling is an excellent option to further address textural concerns.
  • If you'd like to repeat the Melano Pro Peel, we recommend waiting 6 months before doing so.

  • How many Melanopro Peel treatments are needed for the best results?

    Results can vary based on your skin type and concerns. Your experienced therapist will assess your skin and create a customised treatment plan just for you. The Melanopro Peel can be repeated every 6 months and can be alternated with other skin treatments for enhanced results.

  • Is the Melanopro Peel suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding clients?

    The Melanopro Peel contains active exfoliating ingredients and Retinol (Vitamin A), so it is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • Is there any downtime with the Melanopro Peel?

    On the day of treatment, you’ll need to relax and avoid any activities since the Day One Peeling Masque stays on for several hours. After removal, your skin may appear red and feel warm, sensitive, and tight. Redness usually fades within a few hours or days, while tightness and sensitivity may last until your skin starts to flake around day 3. Flaking can continue for 7-10 days, and once it ends, your skin will adjust, and the results will begin to show. By day 15, your skin should feel more comfortable and less dry or sensitive.

  • Can I combine the Melanopro Peel with Cosmetic Injectables or Laser Treatments?

    During the 6-week Melanopro Peel program, you will not have any other skin, laser, or cosmetic treatments on the treated area, except for Yellow LED therapy from week 3 onwards. If you’d like another treatment beforehand, make sure to leave a 2-4 week gap before starting the Melanopro Peel System.

  • Which areas of the body can be treated with the Melanopro Peel?

    The Melanopro Peel is ideal for the face. We can also treat the neck and décolletage area for an additional cost, but keep in mind that the Day One Peeling Masque stays on for several hours. It’s creamy and doesn’t dry, so avoid covering the treated area with clothing.

  • I didn’t peel after my Melanopro treatment—does that mean it didn’t work?

    Not everyone experiences visible peeling, depending on your skin’s condition at the time of treatment. Don’t worry though! You’ll still see improvements in skin texture and a more even complexion due to the active ingredients that boost cell turnover and reduce discoloration.

  • Why is it important to use the aftercare products after the Melanopro Treatment?

    The Melanopro Peel System is only effective when combined with the skin-brightening actives in the homecare products. These products are a crucial part of your treatment plan, and skipping them will affect the results. For the best outcome, we recommend using them as directed.
