Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Rebrandv2LHRBenefits.png
Safe and effective technology

Our Laser Therapists are experienced in operating the market-leading Laser Hair Removal technology, suitable for all skin tones.

Permanent hair reduction

Unlike other hair removal options, our medical-grade Laser Hair Removal technology means fast, safe, cost-effective, reliable and permanent hair reduction.

Reduce ingrown hairs

Laser Hair Removal works by directing concentrated light to target the hair follicle at the root. The laser inhibits the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface, so even the most sensitive skin can be treated.

Convenient & cost effective

We have the most affordable Laser Hair Removal prices and will match any competitor's price. Click here for details on our Price Match Guarantee.

How it works

Our experienced therapists will take your skin and hair type into account before creating a personalised treatment plan.

Our lasers use a large treatment spot size which allows multiple hair follicles to be targeted at the same time.

  • What do I need to do to prepare for my Laser Hair Removal appointment?
    • Ensure the treatment area is cleanly shaved (24 hours prior). Shaving is available in clinic for certain areas only (excluding private areas and face) for an additional fee.
    • Avoid the application of deodorants, body oils and moisturiser to the treatment area (24 hours prior)

  • What skin tones can get Laser Hair Removal?

At Laser Clinics we treat all skin tones with our medical-grade laser technology. Our Laser technicians use the Fitzpatrick Classification scale to determine your skin tone at the consultation and select the most suitable setting for your laser hair removal treatment. Please be advised that your settings may change throughout your course to ensure optimal results.

  • How often do I need to get Laser Hair Removal?

Depending on the hair, skin type, and body area being treated, you will require treatments at 4-6 weeks intervals. For the facial area, treatments should be done in 2-week intervals unless recommended otherwise.

Each part of the facial and body area has a different growing cycle, so hair reduction will vary depending on what stage your follicles are in at the time of the treatment. After each treatment hair is reduced hence it is important to complete the entire recommended course of treatments and at consistent intervals for best results. We recommend a series of 8-12 treatments and maintenance treatments every 2-3 months for permanent hair reduction.

However, as everyone is unique, we access all our clients on a case-by-case basis. During your complimentary consultation, your therapist will discuss a schedule that works with your desired results.

  • Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

One of the benefits of Laser Hair Removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. We use an advanced cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort.

  • Do you offer numbing for Laser Hair Removal?

Unfortunately, topical numbing creams are not safe nor effective when doing Laser Hair Removal. The sensation you feel in treatment is not felt on the skin, but in the follicle of the hair. Unfortunately numbing cream cannot penetrate deep enough to minimise the discomfort that may be felt at the follicle. Please ensure that no occlusive creams are present in the treatment areas when undergoing laser hair removal treatments.

  • What Laser Hair Removal machines do you use?

At Laser Clinics, we use the world's leading Laser Hair Removal technology to provide the best treatment results.  Our advanced cooling machines are used in all laser treatments to cool your skin before, during, and post-treatment to minimise any discomfort.

  • How long should I go in between Laser Hair Removal appointments?
Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6 week intervals. Each part of the body has a different hair growing cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment.
  • What is the minimum age for Laser Hair Removal?

At Laser Clinics Australia, we recommend that Laser Hair Removal clients undergoing Laser Hair Removal treatments are 18 years or older. This ensures optimal treatment results. Prior to the age of 18 years, hair growth has not fully developed due to changing hormonal levels.

In certain instances, we can provide Laser Hair Removal treatments (excluding the Brazilian area) to clients 12 years and over. For the Brazilian area, the minimum age is 16 and over. We will require a parent or guardian to be present at their first treatment for all clients under the age of 18. Your parent or guardian is required to sign a consent form and be present in the consultation to ensure they understand the procedure and aftercare. Note, it is optional for parents and guardians to be in the treatment room for the first treatment.

  • What treatments are suitable during pregnancy?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend you consult with your obstetrician on treatment options. Certain treatments may not be suitable for you, or a medical note may need to be presented at the time of treatment. Please contact your clinic for further details regarding specific treatments.

  • Can I get Laser Hair Removal if I have Epilepsy?

Epilepsy sufferers are advised to consult with their doctor about having Laser Hair Removal. An individual will need to obtain medical clearance from their doctor prior to starting treatment. At Laser Clinics Australia, we also offer various options of protective eyewear to ensure your safety at all times during treatment.

  • Can I have Laser Hair Removal if I am on certain medications?

Certain medications can cause photo-sensitivity to the skin and this may affect the skin's reaction to the treatment. These medications are but not limited to oral and topical vitamin A's, antibiotics, and certain anti-depressants. It is best to speak with your medical professional and obtain medical clearance. After obtaining medical clearance, we are able to test patch you with the laser to determine it is safe to commence treatment.

  • Can I have Laser Hair Removal over the top of tattoos?

No, unfortunately we cannot treat over tattoos with our laser. We can treat around the tattooed areas with a gap of 3cm.

  • What is the difference between a Bikini and an Extended Bikini?

A Bikini covers 3 rows* of hair outside of the bikini line within the inner thighs (and does not treat past a typical underwear line towards the pubic area). An Extended Bikini covers the same area as a regular Bikini treatment, plus a small section within the underwear line, consisting of two rows inside the sides of the underwear line and from the front of the waistband. Note that it does not extend to the behind. *A row is classified as one line of pulses.
