How it works

The PDO thread lift is a non-surgical solution designed to tighten sagging skin on the face. It is effective for areas such as the cheeks, eyebrows, jawline, neck, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.

PDO threads are inserted into the skin’s subcutaneous layer, acting as anchors to lift and support the skin as it is raised. Once the threads are in place, they are trimmed, causing an immediate lift as the surrounding fat tissue is constricted. Unlike volumizers, PDO threads remain in the skin until they naturally dissolve, providing a gradual yet lasting improvement in skin firmness and contour.

Our Cosmetic Registered Nurse begins the PDO thread lift procedure by applying a numbing cream to the treatment area for your comfort.

During the procedure, small blunt-tip needles are used to insert fine, absorbable polydioxanone (PDO) threads into the skin’s subcutaneous layer. Polydioxanone, a material also used in surgical wound closure, creates micro-injuries that remain in the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production.

Once the threads are in place, they are gently pulled back to lift and tighten sagging areas. Over time, the PDO threads dissolve, promoting continued collagen and elastin synthesis, which helps to firm, tighten, and rejuvenate your skin.

PDO thread lift treatment is a non-surgical solution to tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, and body. It effectively targets areas such as the cheeks, eyebrows, jawline, neck, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.

This method stimulates collagen production, with the lifting effect becoming noticeable after three months and lasting between 12-18 months.

Individual results may vary. A consultation before your first treatment is required to review your health conditions and medical history, ensuring that your needs are properly assessed and addressed.

PDO Thread procedures are available at select clinics only and are performed by our medically trained team Cosmetic Registered Nurses.

  • Why am I required to complete a Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening?

We want to ensure you feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. That's why we adhere to the latest guidelines set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening, developed by the Medical Board of Australia. This ensures that we maintain the highest standards of care and address any underlying mental health concerns.

  • What happens in a Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening?

Our healthcare professionals will ask general questions about BDD in your medical history form upon arrival at your appointment, followed by formal screening if deemed necessary. This helps us tailor treatment plans and make informed decisions to ensure your well-being.

Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us throughout the entire screening process.

  • Can I get Cosmetic Aesthetic treatments while pregnant?

No. Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we do not treat clients who are pregnant. We advise against all Cosmetic Aesthetic treatments while pregnant simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on Cosmetic Aesthetic treatment effects on the fetus.
